The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut has scheduled a Zoom conversation for May 12 on the American Rescue Plan, featuring U.S. Rep Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, and United Way of Connecticut President and CEO Lisa Tepper Bates.

This conversation is the third in a series of conversations called Building Democracy Together. It is presented by the community foundation's Women & Girls Funds Task Force on Public Policy.

The American Rescue Plan is the $1.9 trillion stimulus package that President Joe Biden signed into law on March 11.

The Community Foundation is asking those interested in attending the event, happening from 4 to 5 p.m. on May 12, to register by May 10. The registration form can be found at bit.ly/cfect.

The Women & Girls Funds Task Force on Public Policy also is holding two upcoming lunch and learns from noon to 1 p.m.: one May 20 on the last weeks of the legislative session and how to take action, and one June 17 debriefing the end of the session.
